Raw denim · worn in by a real human · zero sandpaper 🐾
Pet the jeans 🐾

The fades are real. Someone earns them for you.

Drop a raw, inky pair in the mail. We match it with a real human — they wear it hard for months until the indigo cracks and blooms. Then it comes home, broken in for you. No sandpaper. No chemicals. No dogs were harmed. 🐶

Why this works
A great gesture isn’t bolted on. It is the product. Swiping was the judgment. Rubbing is the wear.

Tinder found the one hand-motion that contained the whole decision. Jeans Dog 🐕 has the same trick: fades are made by friction and time, period. So you don’t read about the company — you just did the product in three seconds with your thumb. Welcome to the pack.

How it works

You can’t fake a real fade. So we don’t.

Indigo only coats the outside of each cotton thread — the core stays white (that’s ring dyeing). Friction from a living body scrubs that dye away exactly where it bends and rubs, exposing the white core. That’s why honest fades are high-contrast and impossible to counterfeit. We supply the body and the time.

📦 Mail in your raw pair

Send unwashed selvedge straight off the loom — yours or one we source. We log its weight, weave, and starting indigo. The dog sniffs it for quality. Just kidding. Mostly.

02

🐾 A real human lives in them

Matched for your body type and lifestyle, your wearer puts them through real days — walking, sitting, crouching — for 12 to 18 months. No shortcuts allowed.

03

🏠 They come home, earned

Washed once, pressed, and returned with fades that took a year of friction to make. A custody log documents every month. Your jeans have lived a whole life.

The honest part

What Jeans Dog is — and what it refuses to be.

✓ What it does

  • Real abrasion fades made by a body over time
  • Matched wear profiles — active or desk-job intensity
  • A documented custody timeline, month by month
  • One honest wash at the end to set the contrast

✕ What it won’t do

  • No sandpaper, no lasers, no chemicals. Ever.
  • No promised pattern — real fades can’t be copied to spec
  • No fast option. A year is the point, not the bug
  • No reused denim — your pair is only ever worn for you
Choose your wearer

You don’t pick a person. You pick a fade signature.

Every wearer leaves the same kind of mark every time — a fingerprint of how their body moves through denim. High-contrast or soft. honeycomb-heavy or whisker-heavy. Miles walked, climate, gait. Pick the signature you want pressed into your pair, the way you’d pick a tattoo artist by their flash. Choosing one re-bakes the pair above to that wearer’s fade — then rub it in yourself.

Your wearer

Tap a signature above. The hero pair re-bakes to that wearer’s fade so you can rub it in yourself.

It already sells

People pay a premium for denim a human wore in.

Outsourced break-in isn’t a novelty — it’s a proven, premium model. The willingness-to-pay is already on the table.

The obvious questions

Yeah, we’ve heard it. 🐶

Eighteen months? Really?
That’s the proof. The wait is exactly what a laser can’t fake — real time is the only way to real fades (the Indigo Invitational runs a 12-month contest for precisely this reason, with artificial fading banned). And you skip the worst part: the stiff, unwashed first months. Monthly fade-progress shots mean the wait feels like anticipation, not absence.
Someone else wears my jeans? Isn’t that gross?
Your wearer is matched and vetted, the pair is professionally laundered before it comes back, and no chemicals ever touch it. A.P.C.’s Butler program has resold initialed, human-worn pairs for over fifteen years — wearing-in by another person is an established, premium practice, not a gross one.
Can I get an exact fade pattern?
No — and that’s the value. Machine-distressed jeans are identical and dead; yours are one of one. You bias the result by choosing a wearer’s profile (a cyclist’s deep knee honeycombs, a walker’s whiskers), but the unpredictability is the soul of a real fade.
Why no fake distressing — wouldn’t it be faster?
Faster, and worthless. Sandpaper and lasers bleach the indigo flat; real abrasion wears the dyed surface off the thread and exposes the white cotton core, which is why a worn fade glows and a faked one looks dead. The whole company is built on that difference.
